Good News Story: Clontarf Foundation X Moore Park Golf

Moore Park Golf is a proud partner with the Clontarf Foundation. As a team and facility we provide recreation and conferencing opportunities that help support the Clontarf Foundation’s mission to help young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men to attend school, finish Year 12 and enter employment. The entire Moore Park Golf team across golf operations, food & beverage and corporate have enjoyed helping to execute the events and getting to know some of the fantastic kids and staff along the way.

This financial year alone, we have hosted a number of range and conferencing events including:

  • Groups from Academies from the very north of Australia (Katherine), far west (Newman & Carnarvon), Gordonvale (Far North Queensland), Kingaroy (near Brisbane), Hunter River, Westport & Port Macquarie (mid-North Coast).
  • Driving range events for NSW based Academies and alumni groups from Mt Druitt, Cranebrook, Dunheved, Matraville & Endeavor.

We were also privileged to attend a gala dinner of over 1000 academy members (650 year 9-10 boys), Clontarf staff, partners & supporters recognising the efforts of the boys competing in The Ross Kelly Cup. The scale of the impact that has been made really stood out to the team from Moore Park Golf at this event.

Additionally, on Wednesday, April 17th Moore Park Golf was proud to host The Clontarf Foundation’s national Employment Officers Personal Development Day. Thirty Employment Officers and Clontarf leadership from around the country enjoyed a full day of development and learning & hospitality at Moore Park Golf. It was kicked off by a fantastic session on leadership by NRL and Channel 9 star, Brad Fittler. Networks were developed, ideas shared and strategy formulated that will continue to drive a range of positive outcomes for young indigenous boys navigating their way through school into the workforce.

Moore Park Golf plans to build on the strong foundations of this relationship with The Clontarf Foundation by developing a Year 10 Work experience program for Clontarf Academy Year 10 participants and develop a range of internship/apprentice opportunities for Clontarf Academy Graduates.
